Turn your service into local bookings.
List free, get verified, and let customers in your area book you directly.
Is Fixa for you?
If people already pay you for something, you can list it. Fixa is built for independent local service businesses across Johannesburg — not for job seekers, and not for agencies bidding on leads.
Already running a business
Give your existing customers a way to book and pay you properly, and put your prices and photos in one place instead of repeating yourself over WhatsApp.
Doing it on the side
You do not need a registered company or a trading history. You need an ID, a bank account in your own name, and work you can show.
What happens after you list
Four steps. The first two take a few minutes and you can stop and come back — your listing stays as a draft until you publish it.
Create your service profile
Your service title, the category it belongs to, and a description of what you do and what is included.
Add photos, service area and starting price
Photos of work you have actually done, the suburbs you are willing to travel to, and the price your smallest realistic job starts at.
Complete identity and bank verification
Your SA ID or passport, a live selfie taken in the app, and the bank account that should receive your money.
Receive and accept booking requests
Customers send a request with a date and time. You accept, decline or propose a different time. Nothing is charged to anyone until the job is done.
Why verification exists. Customers are letting a stranger into their home, so every provider is checked before they can be listed. It also means the person doing the work is the person who gets paid — the bank account is confirmed against your name before any money moves. It protects you as much as the customer.
What customers can see
- Your service name and description
- Your photos and starting price
- The areas you serve
- Your verified badge and any reviews
What stays private
- Your ID document and selfie
- Your bank account details
- Your ID number and date of birth
- Your home address and email
What it costs
Listing, editing and quoting are free. There is no subscription and no charge for leads. You are only charged once a job is completed and the customer has paid.
Fixa fee — 7%
Charged on the job value, only on completed and paid bookings.
Paystack — 2.9% + R1
The payment processor's charge for handling the card payment. It comes out of your share.
Paid directly into your own bank account by Paystack. Fixa never holds your money. On a R500 job that is 9.9% + R1 in total — nothing at all if the job does not happen.
How to make your listing more likely to be booked
None of this guarantees work. It does make it easier for someone to choose you over a listing with no detail.
Write a specific title
“Deep cleaning for 2–3 bedroom homes” tells a customer more than “Cleaning services”.
Say what is included
Use the description to cover what you do, what you bring, and roughly how long it takes.
Use real photos of your work
Your own finished jobs, not stock images. This is the single thing customers look at first.
Set a realistic starting price
Price the smallest job you would actually take. Undercharging to win work tends to bring work you resent.
Choose the areas you serve
Only the suburbs you will genuinely travel to. Customers filter by area, so accuracy matters more than reach.
Reply quickly
Booking requests come with a notification. Answering the same day is the difference between a booking and a customer moving on.
Common concerns
Do I pay anything before I get work?
No. Creating your listing, editing it and quoting customers are all free. There is no subscription, no listing fee and no charge for leads. Fixa's 7% fee only applies once a booking is completed and the customer has paid.
Will my ID and bank details be public?
No. Your ID document, selfie and bank details are private and never appear on your listing. They are used to confirm who you are and to make sure the right person is paid. Customers see your service name, description, photos, service area, starting price and reviews.
What if I am just starting out?
You can list with no reviews and no history — new listings are shown as new rather than hidden. Clear photos of work you have actually done, a specific title and a realistic starting price matter more than how long you have been trading.
Do I need a registered company?
No. You can list as an individual. You need a South African ID or passport for verification, and a bank account in your own name so payment reaches you.
What if my prices vary from job to job?
Set a starting price that reflects your smallest realistic job, and use the description to say what changes it — travel, materials, or the size of the job. Customers send a request rather than paying upfront, so you can agree the detail before any work happens.
How do customers find me?
Customers browse by category and area, and search for what they need. Your listing also has its own link and QR code you can send to people directly, so customers you already have can book you through Fixa. Fixa cannot promise you will receive bookings — that depends on demand in your area and category.
Is Fixa a job board?
No. Fixa is a marketplace for independent service businesses. You are not applying for a vacancy and there is no employer. You publish a service, set your own prices, and customers book you directly. If you are searching for something like “cleaning jobs in Johannesburg”, Fixa is where you list your cleaning service so customers hire you — not where you apply to an employer.
Ready to list?
Your profile takes a few minutes to start. You can improve it any time — nothing has to be perfect before you publish.
